Method: each comparable is moved up or down by your price-per-mile figure for the mileage difference, then by the condition setting. An estimate from your comparables, not a book value or appraisal. Asking prices often sit above what trucks sell for.

Whatever it is worth today, loaded miles at a good rate keep it paying for itself. We find the loads; you approve them.

Our dispatchers find and negotiate the loads; you approve each one and sign the rate con. 5% of gross for one truck with an MC 6 months or older, no setup fee.

How the estimate works

  1. You enter comparables: trucks with the same make, model and spec, close in year, with their price and miles.
  2. Each comparable is adjusted to your truck's miles: adjusted price = comparable price + (comparable miles - your miles) x price change per mile.
  3. The condition setting moves every adjusted price: worse by 10%, better by 5%, or no change.
  4. The range runs from the lowest to the highest adjusted price, with the middle value shown.

Worked example

ComparablePriceMilesAdjusted to 520,000 miles
1$62,000480,000$60,000
2$55,000610,000$59,500
3$58,000540,000$59,000

EXAMPLE listings at five cents per mile, same condition. Estimated range: $59,000 to $60,000, middle $59,500.

Getting a better estimate

Match the spec, not just the make. Engine, transmission, sleeper size and emissions equipment move prices more than paint. Use sold prices where you can, because asking prices often sit above what trucks sell for. If your comparables spread widely, look at why before trusting the middle.

Get the exact spec with the semi truck VIN decoder, and see what a payment on a truck at this price looks like with the semi truck payment calculator. Insurers value trucks too; the truck insurance cost estimator covers premiums. For market context, read the semi truck price index and forecast and semi truck depreciation by age and mileage.

Mistakes that throw off a truck valuation

  • Using comparables with a different engine or transmission. Spec differences can move prices more than mileage does.
  • Treating asking prices as sale prices. Listings often sit above what trucks sell for; weight auction results more heavily.
  • Ignoring emissions equipment. Missing or modified emissions parts can make a truck hard to sell or register, whatever the mileage.
  • Too few comparables. With one or two trucks, the range says little; aim for three to five close matches.
  • Forgetting what you owe. Compare the value with your loan balance to see whether you have equity before you sell or trade.

Questions

How much is my semi truck worth?
Roughly what similar trucks are selling for, adjusted for your truck's miles, condition and spec. Find three to five trucks with the same make, model, engine and close model year, enter their prices and miles, and the estimator adjusts them to your truck. Sold prices beat asking prices when you can find them.
Can I get truck value by VIN?
A VIN tells you what was built: make, model, year, engine and weight class. It does not price the truck. Decode your VIN with our VIN decoder to get the exact spec, then search for comparables with that spec and enter them here.
Where do I find used semi truck values?
Dealer listings, online marketplaces and auction results show what trucks like yours are offered or sold for. Auction results are useful because they are real sales. Note the year, make, model, engine, miles and price for each, and match the spec as closely as you can.
How much does mileage change a semi truck's value?
More miles usually means a lower price, but how much varies by make, engine and market. The estimator uses a price change per mile that you set, starting at five cents as an assumption. Look at your comparables: if trucks with more miles sell for much less, raise it.
Is this a semi truck value calculator I can use for a loan?
No. It gives an estimate from comparables for your own planning. Lenders and buyers use their own appraisals and guides. Use the range to set an asking price, check a purchase offer or see whether you owe more than the truck is worth.
Why do asking prices run higher than what trucks sell for?
A listing is an opening number. Dealers build in room to negotiate, reconditioning, any warranty and their margin, and many listed trucks sell for less or sit unsold. Auction results show what buyers actually paid on the day. Using both as comparables, and noting which is which, gives a range closer to what a buyer will really pay.
