Who pays us, and who does not

Last updated October 2026

Most of our income is the dispatch fee carriers pay us. A small part can come from three referral partners, listed below. Here is every one of them, in plain words.

Our referral partners

RTS (freight factoring)

When you ask for a factoring quote on our site, we pass your request to RTS, and we may be paid for that referral. The quote, the rate and the contract come from RTS, not from us. We say so next to the button on every factoring form.

Vertical Identity (DOT drug and alcohol testing consortium)

If you drive a CDL truck under your own authority, federal rules require you to be in a random drug and alcohol testing program. We may earn a referral fee when a carrier enrolls with Vertical Identity through our link. We show this offer only to CDL carriers, never to drivers of non-CDL trucks, who are not covered by those rules.

TruckClub (truck warranty and breakdown protection)

TruckClub sells repair and breakdown protection plans for trucks. It is not insurance, and we never describe it that way. We may earn a referral fee when a carrier buys a plan through our link. Plan terms, waiting periods and prices are set by TruckClub; check its current terms before you buy.

What it means for you

  • The price you pay a partner is the same whether you arrive through our link or on your own.
  • We show a partner only on pages where it fits the reader, and we mark each one as a partner offer, with a short disclosure next to the link.
  • Partner links go through a short address on our site, such as /go/truckclub, and are marked as sponsored so search engines do not count them as editorial links.
  • A partner never sees or edits our guides before they are published, and a partner offer never changes a calculator result.

Who pays us nothing

Lenders, leasing companies, dealers, auction houses, truck makers, insurers, load boards and freight brokers named in our guides pay us nothing to be there, and we do not take payment for placement in any list. If that ever changes, the company will be added to this page before its link goes live.

Our own service

We run a dispatch service, and our guides and tools invite you to apply for it. That is our business, and it is why the site exists. We keep the guides useful whether or not you ever hire us, as our editorial policy explains.

Questions about any of this are welcome on the contact page.
