Hot shot dispatch service for a truck and a trailer that both need paying
Most hotshot owners carry two notes: the pickup and the gooseneck. Our hotshot dispatchers book freight that fits your deck and your weight rating, push the rate up, and plan the next load before you unload this one.
CARRIER A · HYPOTHETICAL
Carrier A financed a one-ton pickup and a 40 ft gooseneck together. Month one, the truck ran expedited freight and paid both notes with little left. Month two, the dispatcher added a backhaul on every long run and the trailer note was covered by the second week. EXAMPLE story, not a real carrier.
Will the load fit your deck and your rating?
Enter your deck length, the cargo and the payload your own truck and trailer ratings allow. The deck turns red when the load is too long or too heavy. Below it, the two payments and the loads a month it takes to cover them after the fee.

EXAMPLE numbers. Your payload is set by your own truck and trailer ratings and the law in each state you cross; this checks only the numbers you enter. Fee 5% of gross.
A hotshot dispatcher who ignores your rating is booking you a fine at the scale. We match freight to the numbers on your door stickers, not to what the broker hopes you can carry.
Two payments, one month
The pickup payment and the trailer payment land on different days, but they come out of the same loads. When a dispatcher plans your month, both are fixed lines that every load has to chip away at, along with insurance and fuel.
That changes how we pick freight. A high-paying one-way run 800 miles out can look great until you add the empty trip home. We look for the load back before we book the one out, and we tell you when a shorter, steadier lane covers both notes better than a long shot.
If you are still pricing the rig, read how truck and trailer financing works and run both notes through the payment calculator before you commit.
Hotshot loads we book
Hotshot freight is time-sensitive and often too small or too urgent for a full flatbed. Our hotshot dispatching services cover:
- Expedited freight for plants, shops and job sites that cannot wait for a semi
- Equipment and machinery that fits your deck and your rating
- Vehicles, tractors and implements on a gooseneck or bumper-pull
- Pipe, steel and oilfield supplies on regional runs
- Partial flatbed loads where a 40 ft deck is all the shipper needs
CDL or non-CDL hotshot?
It comes down to weight ratings, not truck size. Under 49 CFR 383.5 a combination needs a Class A CDL when the combined rating is 26,001 lb or more and the trailer is rated over 10,000 lb. Many 40 ft goosenecks are rated well over 10,000 lb, so many hotshot rigs need a CDL.
A non-CDL hotshot keeps the combination under those lines, which limits how much it can haul. We dispatch both. Non-CDL hotshot dispatch simply means we filter for lighter loads, and the drug and alcohol testing rules for CDL drivers do not apply to you.
What we confirm before we offer you a hotshot load
A hotshot load that looks good on the board can go wrong at the dock. Our hotshot dispatchers get these answers from the broker first:
Weight and dimensions. the real numbers, checked against your deck length and your rated payload.
How it gets loaded. forklift, crane or ramps, and who does the loading at each end.
Securement and tarps. what the shipper expects, and whether tarping pays extra.
Pickup and delivery windows. so an expedited load is truly doable in your hours.
Accessorials. detention, extra stops and layover pay written into the rate con before you sign.
What hotshot rates depend on
There is no trusted public index for hotshot rates, so anyone who quotes you one national number is guessing. What a hotshot load pays comes down to weight, distance, how urgent the shipper is and where the load leaves you. A short urgent run can pay far more per mile than a long one, and a long one into a dead market can cost you the next two days.
That is why we price the round trip. Before you say yes to a run out, we check what is moving back from that area so the truck is not driving home empty on your dime.
Gooseneck or bumper-pull?
Do you dispatch bumper-pull trailers too?
Yes. A bumper-pull setup takes lighter and shorter loads than a gooseneck, so we filter for freight that fits its length and rating. Give us the trailer's numbers once and every offer will match them.
Every hotshot load is your call
- 1Dispatcher finds and negotiates
- 2Broker sends the rate con to you
- 3You sign it, or you say no
We find the load and negotiate it, then bring it to you with the weight, the dimensions and the rate. Say yes and the broker sends the rate con straight to your email in your company name. You sign it, or you tell us no.
We never accept a load for you. If the weight is close to your rating or the pickup window is tight, we say so before you decide.
Hot shot dispatch pricing
Hotshots pay the same schedule as every rig we dispatch: 7% of gross while your MC is under 6 months, then 5% for one truck or 4% for two or more. The new authority rate ends on its own in month 7.
No setup fee, no minimum, month-to-month. A week without loads costs you nothing. See every detail on the pricing page.
- 7%MC under 6 months, any fleet size
- 5%1 truck, MC 6+ months
- 4%2+ trucks on one MC, MC 6+ months
- Of gross load revenue. No setup fee, no minimums, month-to-month, 30 days notice, no haul no pay.
Straight answers for hotshot owners
Hotshot dispatch companies all promise big weeks. Why are you different?
We do not promise weekly numbers at all. We show you the math on your own payments, negotiate every load, and send every rate con to you to sign. If the work does not pay for our fee, the weekly report shows it and you can leave with 30 days notice.
Can you keep me close to home?
Yes, if you tell us your limits. Some owners want to be home every night, others run out for a week. We plan the loads around the home time you set, and we tell you plainly when that limit is costing you money.
